Technology Development Foundation of Türkiye

Global competition in photovoltaic technologies will be shaped not only by production capacity but also by a strong entrepreneurship ecosystem.

The opportunities presented by this transformation and the required collaborations were discussed with the participation of various stakeholders during the panel titled "Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Opportunities for PV" at PVCon 2026.

Hanzade Sarıçiçek, Secretary General of TTGV (Technology Development Foundation of Turkey), shared her insights regarding the opportunities that will strengthen Turkey's photovoltaic entrepreneurship ecosystem and the commercialization process of climate technologies.

Key Takeaways from the Panel:

  • Next-Generation Opportunity Areas: Next-generation solar energy solutions, energy storage and grid flexibility applications, PV software, AI-powered energy management platforms, battery and panel recycling, clean hydrogen, and next-generation fuel value chains, as well as testing, certification, and scaling infrastructures, hold significant potential for Turkey.

  • The Real Barrier to Technology: The main challenge in scaling climate technologies is not solely access to finance, but rather market design, demand generation, and the sharing of initial implementation risks. Validating robust research outputs in the field and reaching the first customer are critically important for the commercialization of these technologies.

As TTGV, through the Guided Project, Seed, Demo, and Technology Verification mechanisms conducted within our Pioneering Project Program, we continue to support both technology developers and the end-users who will implement these solutions along the journey of early-stage technologies from the lab to the field, and from the field to the market.

We would like to thank all the speakers, stakeholders, and the organization team who contributed to the development of the PV ecosystem.
